Q:  Your beds are GREAT! Who makes them and where can I buy one?

A:  The queen bed mattress is made of a thermal-sensitive material most commonly known as "memory foam". Ours are by the Restonic Mattress Company and several companies now make them. The mattress on the full-sized bed is made of latex rubber. A limited number of major manufacturers make this mattress. Be forewarned... both of these mattresses can be very pricey, so shop around. Regardless of where you live in the US, you may contact hrc@alaska.com as to how to purchase one.

Q:  Do you have any smoking rooms?

A:  The Voyager Hotel is a smoke-free property. All guest rooms and public areas including the lobby are designated as non-smoking.

Q:  Do you provide shuttle service from the airport?

A:  The Voyager is 5 miles and a 10 minute drive from Ted Stevens (Anchorage) International Airport. We suggest a taxi as being the easiest and fastest way to the hotel and up to 5 passengers can ride for the price of one. Taxis are approximately $16.00 plus gratuity.

Q:  How far are you from the train station?

A:  We are less than one mile from the train station (about a $4.00 taxi ride.)

Q:  Can I leave or store excess luggage while I travel elsewhere in Alaska?

A:  Yes, guests can leave their luggage for the day or guests can leave luggage when they have a return reservation.

Q:  Do you have freezer storage available for guest use?

A:  We have limited freezer space available for short term use on a first-come-first-served basis. For many or large boxes, longer term freezer storage is available on a daily rental basis at the airport for a nominal fee.

Q:  Do you have laundry facilities available for guest use?

A:  We have a guest laundromat facility available from 8am to 8pm on a first-come basis. ($1.50 wash, $1.50 dry) Same-day valet service (laundry and dry clean) is available Monday thru Saturday. We can direct you to several laundromats, but they are not within walking distance.

Q:  Do you have a health club or work-out facilities? A pool?

A:  Excellent facilities are available nearby at a special rate for our guests. We do not have a pool.

Q:  Do you allow pets?

A:  We are unable to accept pets. Bartholomew, the very realistic-looking cat seen in the lobby, is not a real cat. You may see a small dog, his name is Oscar and he belongs to the general manager.

Q:  Where can I park my car?

A:  Upon arrival, pull into the loading zone in front of the hotel. Be sure to tell the desk clerk if you have, or will have a car and we will sell you a 24-hour parking pass for the parking lot directly across the street.

Q:  Do you offer AAA, senior or other discounts?

A:  The Voyager Hotel is very competitively priced. All rates are based on our "LOWEST AVAILABLE RATE" and no further rate considerations are offered or available. The only exception is for state of Alaska or federal employees TRAVELING ON OFFICIAL BUSINESS. Should you qualify for a government rate, please call the hotel directly, 1-800-247-9070 for rate information.

Q:  Do you offer frequent flyer miles?

A:  Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members earn 500 Alaska Airlines miles every time they stay at the Voyager Hotel.*

Q:  Are there any restaurants nearby?

A:  There are numerous places to dine in the downtown area, everything from hot dog stands to world-class cuisine (but no McDonalds). In fact, there are 18 restaurants within two blocks of the hotel front door including one of Anchorage's finest for dinner and cocktails, the Corsair, which is located on the lower level of the hotel.
